Detectable line

The IGEAX Detectable line was created to support companies operating in sensitive environments – particularly in the food industry – in managing the risk of contamination from foreign objects.

IGEAX detectable products are designed and manufactured with materials that can be detected by metal and/or X-ray detection systems, which must be properly calibrated in advance according to the instructions provided by the system manufacturer. The system must then be verified to ensure that it can detect the detectable product components even under the operating conditions in which detection is carried out. Detectability therefore helps and increases the chances of detecting any fragments of detectable products in the event of contamination resulting from breakage, wear or other accidental events occurring during their use.

However, it is essential to clarify that 'detectable' does not mean guaranteed detection in all conditions.

Detection also depends on multiple factors external to the product, including the type of equipment installed, its correct calibration, the physical and packaging characteristics of the product being inspected, which may prevent or reduce the chances of detection, and the operating conditions of the line.

The products in the IGEAX Detectable line do not replace the correct prevention, control and maintenance practices required by HACCP systems and food safety standards, but represent an additional preventive measure, supporting a structured and informed approach to safety.

The validation of the actual traceability of detectable products under real process conditions remains the responsibility of the end user.
